Diane Watson (D-CA) Applauds Fidel Castro

Diane Watson, Democrat Representative from California, continues to be loose-lipped and controversial. She insists that conservatives, “are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails.”

Spreading fear? People that have stood up and took notice of what’s going on in this country are merely spreading the truth about this current administration. Unfortunately, much of what they’re trying to do is frightening. And if you want to talk about scary, this is from Diane Watson’s own lips:

It was just mentioned to me by our esteemed speaker, “Did anyone say anything about the Cuban health system?”

And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]

And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro…

Are you kidding me? The communist murderer that has held his country under oppression is “one of the brightest leaders”? Now, you may be able to classify him under intelligent, but intelligence doesn’t make one bright; and the way Fidel Castro has treated his people over the years is downright monstrous.

I fear Diane Watson and all those that actually applauded this obscene remark. Listen for yourself:

Obscene? Yes, it was obscene and insulting. My best friend of 13 years in Maryland is a Cuban who was born prior to Castro’s power. His father owned a rather successful furniture business but had to give it up when Castro came into power and the family fled to America. My friend has never been able to return to his roots and visit the place he was born and the location of the old furniture business — something he has longed to do. And people like Diane Watson are suddenly lauding Fidel Castro.

Additonally, I don’t hope that Barack Obama fails as an American president because that would mean a tremendous amount of dire things would happen to our country. However, he is failing as an American president because of the radical agenda he’s trying to succeed with. So let’s be clear about this, do I hope he fails as an American president? No. Do I hope fails with the agenda he’s trying to pass? Yes.

Questions: Why are representatives of our government suddenly trumping up Fidel Castro? Why is Diane Watson dragging race into this when it’s simply the issues that are the matter?
